Lakshmi Sora – Bangla Pattachitra
This year, I decided to celebrate by creating a traditional Bangla Pattachitra (Bengal style pattachitra) on Sora, a terracotta plate. I absolutely love Pattachitra art! The colours are so vibrant, and the intricate designs tell stories that connect us to our rich culture. As I painted, I felt this amazing connection to my roots and all the traditions that come with this festival.
The whole process of creating this piece was honestly a blast! I started by sketching out Maa Lakshmi and the other deities on the sora, trying to capture their beauty and grace. And then came the fun part – bringing it to life with colors! For this painting I used acrylic colours. I went all out with bright blues, greens, and reds, and it was so satisfying to watch it transform into a colorful celebration of Goddess Lakshmi.
I also recorded the entire drawing process and uploaded it to my YouTube channel, Ankita Drawss. It’s always a thrill to share my artworks with you all! In the video, you can see how I took a simple terracotta plate and turned it into something beautiful that captures the essence of Kojagari Purnima. Let me know how you like it : )
Kojagari Purnima is such a meaningful time, reminding us to appreciate all the good things in life. I am excited to keep exploring my creative side and sharing more with you.
Wishing you all a joyous and prosperous Kojagari Lakshmi Puja! May Goddess Lakshmi bless your homes with wealth, happiness, prosperity and abundance 🙏
